“Changed My Perspective”

“The course material was very interesting, and the professor found many ways to tie the course material into many aspects of the real world. I came in knowing a lot about the topic, but I still am learning so much. As we reach the end of this course, I can say with 100% certainty that it has changed my perspective on the world and of my future.”

“Always There to Support”

“I cannot express enough how much of a kind and helpful professor Echols was. I never felt scared to communicate with her my struggles with the course due to outside factors and she was always there to support me and cheer me on. I was always excited to attend class and engage in the material with my classmates and family. It was truly one of the best courses I had at UCI this far.”

“[Brought] Out The Best in Us”

“Professor Courtney Echols is a blessing, I was honored to have had her as my professor this quarter. Thank you for teaching with a passion and bringing out the best in us! You’ve touched my heart in so many ways!”

“Most Amazing Person and Professor”

“Professor Echols was a great professor and most “hardly seeing” in most of the campuses because I actually been to four different universities. She is very understanding with the students and for me and I actually wrote many times regarding how the readings were so hard for me since English isn’t my first league, but she actually understands where everyone was coming from, by taking our recommendation into consideration with giving out extra credits and honestly, for some professors would never do that, and I have actually met professors that do not reply to any message or emails. However, Professor Echols replies very well on our Mid survey and not only that on the first day of school survey and this strongly showed me how much she cares about each and every one of us and she wants everyone in her class to succeed and that’s the reason why I have tried my fullest and best to do awesome in this class. She is the most amazing person and professor, teacher, amentor that I have ever met.”

“Excellent Professor”

“The Professor was extremely generous with her students. She always listened to our needs and made changes according to what we communicated to her. Professor Echols also demonstrated that she cared for her students and gave us opportunities to improve. She would give feedback to any assignment and allowed us to try again if we did not earn the grade we expected. Very nice course and excellent Professor!”

“One of The Best Professors and Classes I Have Ever Had”

“One of the best professors and classes I have ever had. Professor Courtney Echols has contributed greatly to my positive view of UCI and its teaching staff. She goes above and beyond to accommodate students and make the teaching environment comfortable for all.”

“One of The Most Understanding Individuals”

“I think this professor is amongst one of the most understanding individuals I have had in my time being at UCI. I would retake another course with this professor without hesitation. I material was interesting and got me thinking a majority of the time.”

“One of The Most Insightful Professors”

“Professor Echols was one of the most respectful, flexible, open, and insightful professors that I have taken so far at UCI.”

“Extremely Understanding and Considerate”

“I really enjoyed the structure Professor Echols had for the course, she was extremely understanding and considerate and I truly appreciated that aspect of her.”

“Opened My Eyes”

“The connection between racism and capitalism really opened my eyes and kept me engaged in this course throughout the quarter. Professor Echols broke down the material in a very simple, accessible way for us, despite how difficult and dense the readings could sometimes be. Professor Echols was also very understanding and took the feedback of her students very seriously. Any teacher that is as accommodating and understanding as her should receive an award, I can’t say how appreciative I am of how supportive she is of her students.”

“Very Accommodating”

“The professor made everything very accommodating to my learning abilities, interests in the course, and experience overall! It was a truly great experience to have a professor who cared for our education and our well being.”

“One of The Best Classes Ever”

“One of the best classes I’ve ever taken 🙂 would definitely recommend it to other criminology students, and I was very pleased.”

“Open to Feedback”

“This instructor was very fair and implemented a lot of voting within the class to make sure the student’s voices were heard. She was very open to feedback and flexible with the circumstances of students.”

“Cares”

“I appreciate that this professor gives opportunities to fix a poor grade. There are times when the assignments were graded low, but she offers us to redo the material to increase our grades. This lets us know what we got wrong, increases our knowledge in this class, and demonstrates that the professor cares about information getting into our heads rather than just grades themselves.”

“Helped me a Lot “

“I think this course helped me a lot in learning about many things I didnt know. This helps me learn about obstacles that some people deal with in the world. This course explained the injustice that has been going on in this country, specifically poor communities. With this information and the knowledge I am gaining I want to be able to use this information where ever I go in my career job. I would like to help children and communities that have less advantages.”

“Extremely Important”

“This course is extremely important. It has helped me realize my ignorance and has allowed me to see America for what it really is, not for the rose-colored narrative our country has been pushing about itself since its conception. I believe every single American needs to learn what I was lucky enough to learn in this course.”

“Understanding Nature”

“For one, the understanding nature that the professor exuded since day one- which was a lot more than I had previously received before from other professors. Thirdly, she was always making sure everyone’s questions were being answered, ensuring that class is on the same page.”

“Cares For Everyone”

“Professor Echols is one of the best professors who is willing to do everything to help the students. She cares for everyone and teaches in a way that is helpful to every single student. Every opinion is taken into account in this class. Professors main goal is to present the course material not judge the students with the grades they receive.”

“Set a Pretty High Standard”
